The Bougainville Mission brings together civic, academic, and state forces, embodying an essential human dimension.

Marine exploration will be led by master’s students serving as biodiversity officers for one year aboard a French Navy vessel—a nod to the spirit of the first French circumnavigation undertaken by Louis-Antoine de Bougainville on the *Boudeuse*.

Professional sailors will participate in the protocols and discover the extraordinary beauty and diversity of the invisible life inhabiting every liter of seawater, forever transforming their perspective and understanding of the environment they have chosen to protect.
